International interest stirred in Hervey Bay whales
EGN_06_28.jpg Brian and Jill Perry of Hervey Bay Whale Watch joined Trade and Investment Queensland and the partners of BDO, one of Australia's largest associations of independently owned accounting practices, and some of Queensland's leading exporters including Ken Bennett of Griffith University and James Bowles of Cook Australia at a luncheon in Brisbane on 20 April.

Hervey Bay Whale Watch won the Regional Exporter of the Year Award at the 2010 Premier of Queensland's Export Awards. The awards are sponsored by a host of blue-chip companies and organisations and acknowledges the important contribution that businesses make and recognises the role they play in boosting the State and Australia's economy.

Brian Perry said he believed the national and international recognition they received as a finalist in 2008 and as an award winner in 2010 has significantly contributed to greater awareness of whale watching and the Fraser Coast region.
